Im a big boy now!

Look everyone I can sit in my stroller without the carseat!

Luke is very cute. He had his 6 mo visit today and was very brave during the shots. He is 15lb 6 oz; the 10th percentile for weight and 50th for length (uncorrected). He's developing well and is learning all kinds of new tricks (some of which keep him up at night practicing... )

He found his feet and loves to roll around with them in the air!

He's eating more solid food now; looooves carrots and bananas, not so fond of prunes and made a yuck face with green beans ( I cant blame him. I tried them also).

Sleep is still a bit of a struggle with him. He wakes a couple of times overnight for no apparent reason and only sometimes puts himself back to sleep. Our pediatrician, Dr. Barcelona told me today that we may have to incorporate some tough love with his sleep issues. From what I hear from our friends Bob and Stacey and my cousin Aimee, we will be in for a few hell nights but it should pay off (more sleep for him and us!).
We had a nice family outing at the park last weekend. John had Luke hysterically laughing:

A beautiful day

Look at my cute sneakers! They are from my cousin Kyle. I love to kick my legs and wave my arms at the same time.

Happy baby!

Stop and smell the roses!

Life is pretty good for Luke James! He has an appreciation for the finer things as you can see!

Discovering food. He is still trying to eat the food by some form of osmosis rather than actually putting it in his mouth. Points for trying, Luke.

He is definitely getting bigger - long and over 15 lbs - Hay and I are in the gym 3 days+ a week to grow strong enough to hold him!

Easier when he is floating as you can see. Too big now for baby tub..

The world he interfaces with always goes through his mouth. He is playing his favorite game, can I get this in my mouth? He wins at that game alot.. Yep, thats a shoe... in his mouth.

Gram (Haylen's Mom) loves her little Luke!
Daddy feels he is very blessed and very proud of Luke

Luke o sites

Both grandmas have spent time with Luke recently. John's mother flew out while John went to Indianapolis for work - a welcome break for both parents who went to a movie for the first time in 5 months. Haylen's mother also came back from Florida after 2 months of caring for her ailing father.

Luke is active and kicking and verbalizing like a madman! He no longer requires food at night, but is not quite sleeping through the night. Sleep is his big issue - 30 min naps quite often and waking tired, not sleeping through night for no clear reason. We are open to thoughts on this.

Hay is a Super mom, very good instincts and more love for Luke than anyone could ask. We've been to the MDs a few times to uncover the cause of his sleep issues, but no cause we can find (in the past he was having trouble due to ear infections and chest colds).

We laugh all the time with him as he learned to make Slee Stack noise, like from "land of the lost". "cchhhhccchhhhcchh" So funny. We think he's sleeping and then we hear sleestack noises over the monitor. He is very pleased with himself when he does this!
Still has blue eyes, long eyelashes and a wonderful smile and laugh! We just love spending time with him or looking at pictures of him while we are travelling! A real joy...
