Yosemite Luke

Here we are in Yosemite Valley in northern California! Half dome and bridaveil falls are behind us in this picture. We rented a house in the park for 4 nights and it was a wonderful memorial day weekend!

Alison joined us and played with Luke - much changed since Christmas when she saw him last. He is indeed a 'little man'. In fact, last night he gave us a real sign language sign - boy were Haylen and I shocked! He made the sign for 'sleep'. Too cool!

Alison and Maura, her good friend, Graduate from high school in a few weeks. Here's to an adult life of travel and exploration for both of them!

Here the pack is all together, Bobbi, Maura, Haylen, Luke and John

Vernal Falls - Gorgeous! I guess we blame global warming when we have loads of snow in the winter too? The falls are so full this year!

Haylen at Nevada Falls - very gorgeous!

Spray from the waterfalls - exhilarating

Tourist alert!

The girls seemed to enjoy the experience.
Luke has indeed fought the bear 'arghghghg!'

San Francisco Treat!

Luke is almost 17 lbs and healthy. Moving around a lot. His mouth is still the touchstone of all things he grabs. More on him and our trip to Yosemite soon!

We had a visit from Alison Poppe, our neice and her friend Maura. Ally flew out thanks to Bernadette who gave up a flight voucher so Ally and Maura could join John, Hay and Luke for a trip to Yosemite National Park (pics to come on that adventure). John and the girls had a few days in San Francisco before we met up with Luke, Hay and Hay's mom, Bobbi in Fresno airport.

Crookedest street in America, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz!

Brown Fleck?

Luke has revealed a fleck of brown in his right eye.. That seems to be the beginning of the end of Blue eyes for our boy.. He was a cool hand Luke throwback to the late Paul Newman, now he joins the ranks of genetic dominant allele brown eyed majority.

Hay is loving motherhood, a welcome surprise for both of us, who were jointly hesitant about what it meant to have a child. Hay looks better than she did prior to pregancy. A super mom who is making her own organic baby food for Luke!

John loves fatherhood and is happy that Luke held his first golf club already!

Luke, just remember (picture below), there is no spoon.. He is grappling with the burden of being 'the one'
